Hello valued members,
As usual, Ultimate Fitness will be closed for Thanksgiving weekend. The gym will be closed the Friday after Thanksgiving and that Saturday as well. We hope you will all have a wonderful holiday weekend, eat lots of great food, enjoy time with family and get some screaming deals on Black Friday. Don’t forget about Small Business Saturday. Pick your favorite boutique or other small business and buy one item to show your support for small businesses in Sacramento.
From the entire team at Ultimate Fitness, our members are what we are thankful for this year!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Sounds like a no-brainer, right? Well, for some it’s not. Many people just don’t like vegetables but they are a very important part of your diet especially if weight loss is the goal. Also, they are just generally great for you! Fruits and vegetables are loaded with important, cancer-fighting antioxidants and tons of fiber. For folks trying to lose weight, fiber is extremely important. For one thing, fiber makes you feel full and satisfied so you tend to eat less. Also, fiber helps counter the bad effects of carbohydrates. And, last but not least, helps keep our digestive systems healthy and functioning properly.
So eat your fruits and veggies! Justin Buchholz says that when he’s trying to maintain a healthy weight, he literally eats as much fruits and vegetables as he can possibly stand to ingest in a day!
Ultimate Fitness members can continue to enjoy free TRX classes until the end of November. Get your booties in and try a TRX class! We promise you will LOVE it! Next class is tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. See you there!!
Ultimate Fitness will close at 1:30 p.m. this Friday, November 11th in honor of Veteran’s Day. Come in early and get your workouts in before the weekend. You have plenty of options with Kenneth’s 7 a.m. kickboxing class and the new 8:15 a.m. TRX class taught by Ryan Ferguson. Hope to see you all in a morning class this Friday. Enjoy your long weekend!
Hello Valued Members,
We have changed the TRX schedule a bit. Effective immediately the Wednesday and Friday 6:15 a.m. class has been moved to 8:15 a.m. Ryan will still teach these classes but as of now, nobody seems to want to get up that early!
Soon we will add bars in the BJJ area so that we can hold TRX classes simultaneously with Kickboxing or Boxing classes. You will see an expanded TRX schedule beginning in December including some 7 a.m. classes!
Get in and try TRX soon. It’s an amazing workout and super challenging for you veterans of fitness!
Hello readers! Today we’re starting Weight Loss Wednesdays. This weekly post will feature all types of weight loss tips from the pros, experts and members who have experienced success with weight loss. It’s the number one goal of many people who train so we thought we would utilize our access to the numerous individuals who can speak on the subject. The trainers and fighters in our gym every day are some of the most elite athletes on the planet so why not pick their brains for weight loss tips?!
Today we asked several of the pros what is their main weight maintenance aid when they are not cutting weight but just trying to stay lean between fights…
We spoke to Justin Buchholz, Joseph Benavidez, TJ Dillishaw and Mario Soto. We asked them all the same question, got the conversation started and it seemed to be unanimous. The one thing they are all mindful of to stay reasonably lean is they cut carbs especially at night. They all mentioned eating bigger meals earlier in the day and making dinner their smallest meal of the day and eat no carbs at dinner. Also, they all drink tons of water and nothing else…no sodas, no gatorade, no alcoholic beverages, water only!
That’s your weight loss tip for this Wednesday. As TJ put it, “eat like a king in the morning and a peasant at night!” Stay tuned for the next Weight Loss Wednesday tip.
