Ultimate Fitness will offer free TRX classes for the week from November 1st through November 7th! Check out the class schedule and plan to come in for a few classes. You can try it out for free before you buy classes. After the 7th there will be a special rate for Ultimate Fitness members.
Have you had a chance to check out TRX? The fighters have been training TRX in the mornings. We hope you have had a chance to see how dynamic these TRX workouts are. Soon you will be able to feel the fantastic burn yourselves. You will see we have changed the schedule a little to start out. We will be doubling classes in December. We would love some feedback from all of you as to when you would like to see TRX classes on the schedule. Ultimate Fitness is excited to announce a brand new class on our schedule. Womens’ Self Defense Jiu Jitsu has just been added to Saturday’s schedule. We highly recommend all our female members trying this class. Check out the description below and come check out the class in person soon!
Womens’ Self Defense Jiu Jitsu is a fitness and self defense class specifically for women. This class is instructed by our Black Belt, Dustin Akbari, who applies Brazilian Jiu Jitsu moves to real world self defense. This is a must for women of all ages in this crazy world to be able to defend herself in bad situations against an attacker. In an attack, assailants will often attempt to bring their victim to the ground. All women should know how to defend themselves in such a position. This class will hone those ground skills. Womens’ Self Defense Jiu-Jitsu brings, conditioning, Jiu-Jitsu and self defense practices together for an outstanding workout.
Effective immediately weekday morning BJJ and Submission Grappling classes have been moved to 12 noon start time. We think this is a great change that will accommodate more of our members’ busy schedules. We’re so excited to make this improvement to the schedule and hope you all will find it easier to attend daytime ground classes. You can see our full schedule here.
TRX Suspension training classes are coming soon! We’re all getting in a little practice before our official launch on November 1st. We hope you’re all getting excited to try it out. TRX Suspension Training is coming to Ultimate Fitness! Classes start November 1, 2011. No matter what you are training for, TRX Suspension Training body weight exercise can help! TRX offers 300+ exercises that build power, flexibility, core strength and endurance. It is a versatile, total body workout that is helping pro athletes, the U.S. Military and fitness buffs the world over exceed their training goals.
We are so excited to bring in TRX and offer it to our members. A few of us have been working with our certified trainers and, let me tell you, it is tough! I’ve never gotten so warm and so whooped so quickly! The suspension helps you go deeper into pushups, squats, etc. so you get more out of every movement. It’s truly amazing and an exciting new challenge for our trainers, fighters and members.

KICKBOXING, CONDITIONING AND PRO CLASSES
Buchholz is a former ICON Sport Lightweight champion. He has also fought in EliteXC and he held an 8-1 record before signing with the UFC in 2007. He earned his first win in the UFC against three-to-one favorite, Corey Hill. After a few ups and downs in the UFC, Buchholz defeated Steve Clark by Submission (rear naked choke) in the first round. He then fought fellow UFC veteran Steve Lopez in May 2011 with SCC – Superior Cage Combat. Buchholz beat Lopez with a highlight reel finish, knocking Lopez our in the third with a front kick to the chin. Next, he beat Thiago Mellar by unanimous decision in August 2011 again with the SCC. Justin is currently the Showdown Lightweight Champion and his record is 14-7-0.
Aside from his MMA interests, Justin is a health and environmental fanatic and keeps those around him honest about the way they live. His knowledge of health, nutrition and fitness is quite vast and members learn more than just MMA techniques in his classes.

Welcome to the Ultimate Fitness Blog, a new feature we have added to our improved website. In our quest to get you more information about all things fitness and nutrition and to get that information to you faster and on a more regular basis, we have created this blog. On the Ultimate Fitness blog we will share the latest news and information about Ultimate Fitness such as events happening at UF, new equipment, new classes, schedule changes, etc. We will also be conducting interviews with fighters and trainers and sharing those interviews so you can learn more about each fighter and trainer’s individual style, inspiration and motivation. We will be asking experts about the latest and greatest advances in training, gear, diet and nutrition and sharing those “Tips from the Pros” with our readers as well.
